The sales of trucks and buses rise the number of 219.000 units
Truck and bus registrations in the European market as a whole stood at 219,608 units, which is 3% more than during the previous month of the previous year, according to data from the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA).
The European market was encouraged by the increases experienced in Spain and France, with increases of 8.4% and 2.1%, respectively. So far this year sales of this type of vehicle in Europe have reached a volume of 1.06 million units, representing 4.1% compared to the same period of 2017. By type of vehicle, average truck registrations reached a volume of 33,313 units in the fifth month of the year, 2.4% less, and 165,922 units in total, 3.6% more, while monthly deliveries of trucks decreased by 2.7% to 26,965 units, and increased by 4% the accumulated ones, with 135,907 units.
The registrations of industrial vehicles of up to 3.5 tons rose by 4% in May, with 182,677 units, and by 4.3% so far this year, to 886,177 units. For its part, the European coach and bus market registered 3,618 units sold last month, with a 3.1% increase, while the volume between January and May was 17,381 units, down 1.1%.
