DAF presents his new electric model

For the CF Electric, DAF has partnered with VDL Groep and its extensive experience in vehicle electrification, especially in the field of public transport buses. “VDL has shown that it is a leader in electric buses and has already delivered hundreds of these vehicles throughout Europe,” says Willem van der Leegte, president of VDL Groep. “Partnering with DAF and its electric truck represents a great opportunity for the two companies to lead the global electric commercial vehicle market.”
For its part, the CF Electric is a 4 × 2 tractor for distribution of up to 40 tons in urban areas where semi-trailers with single or double axle are standard. The truck is based on the CF range of DAF, and uses the VDL E-Power Technology for electrification operations. It also has a 210 kWh electric motor, which receives the energy from the lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 170 kWh. The CF Electric will have a range of approximately 100 kilometers, and the batteries can be charged in fast charge mode in 30 minutes, or full charge in an hour and a half.
