According to data collected by the Ministry of Development, in 2017 more than 148,000 infractions were detected exclusively for transport, 1.8% more than the previous year. The sum of the amount paid by the transport companies is 87 million euros, 4% higher than the previous year. In 2017, the downward curve that started in 2010 the sum paid by companies for transport sanctions was broken.

That year the administrations raised 154 million, a figure that was decreasing successively until reaching the figure of 84.4 million in 2016. But in 2017 this trend broke when exceeding 87 million euros. In spite of the fact that in 2017, 1831 fewer cases were resolved, so it follows that the average amount has also been higher (in a file several infractions can be collected) in 2016 the average amount was 780 euros and last year amounted to 825 euros.

Among the groups of detected infractions, the following stand out: 8.566 for lack of transport card; 609 tachograph manipulations; 54,809 infractions in driving times and rest hours, which represent 1% of controlled driving days; by speed limiter 618 infractions; 18,111 excess weight; 2,819 infringements of dangerous goods and 1,185 in perishable goods. Note that the Civil Guard inspected 203,072 vehicles on the road, compared to 223,515 in 2016, which represents a decrease of 9.15% over the previous year.
